mockingpug · mock data and mock APIs for React and Next.js

1. Acceptance of These Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and [Imię Nazwisko], [business name from CEIDG] ([street, postal code, city], Poland, NIP [0000000000]) ("mockingpug", "we", "us") and govern your use of this website (mockingpug.com), the mockingpug cloud editor (app.mockingpug.com) and the cloud features of the mockingpug CLI (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you may accept these Terms for it.

2. The Service

mockingpug lets you design mock data schemas and mock API endpoints, collaborate on them, share them by link and pull them into your apps with the mockingpug CLI. Mock responses are generated in your own app by the open-source mockingpug package.

The npm package is licensed separately under the MIT License; these Terms do not limit the rights that license gives you.

3. Your Account

  • You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
  • Give accurate information and keep your password, sign-in methods and CLI or CI tokens secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • Tell us at [email protected] if you believe your account or a token has been compromised. You can revoke CI tokens in the project settings at any time.

4. Plans and Limits

The Service is currently free. The free plan includes a limited number of projects, connected apps and project members, shown in the cloud editor. Features marked "Soon" are not available yet. If we introduce paid plans, we will describe their prices and terms before you can buy them; features you already use for free will not start costing money without your agreement.

5. Technical Requirements

To use the Service you need an internet connection, a current version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge with JavaScript and cookies enabled, and an email address or a GitHub or Google account. The CLI needs Node.js. Using the internet carries general risks, such as malware or unauthorized access to data; we protect the Service as described in the Privacy Policy.

6. Your Content

You keep all rights to the schemas, endpoints, dictionaries, notes and other content you put into the Service ("Your Content"). You give us a limited license to host, store, process and display Your Content only as needed to run the Service for you — for example, to show it to project members, to people with your share link, and to deliver it to your apps.

You are responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the right to use it. Do not put real personal data, secrets or credentials into schemas, dictionaries or example data: mockingpug is built for mock data.

7. Sharing and Collaboration

When you share a project by link, anyone who has the link — and the password, or an invitation, depending on your setting — can see the published schema. Members you invite can view the project and, with the rights you grant, edit it and publish versions. You can change access, revoke links and remove members at any time; you are responsible for whom you share access with.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • break the law or infringe anyone's rights through the Service;
  • upload malware or content that is unlawful, harmful or abusive;
  • probe, scan or test the security of the Service without our permission, or bypass its limits, rate limits or access controls;
  • overload the Service, including through automated access beyond normal use of the cloud editor and the CLI;
  • resell the Service or use it to build a competing hosted product;
  • create accounts by automated means or impersonate others.

9. Availability and Changes

The Service is under active development. We may add, change or remove features, and we may interrupt the Service for maintenance. We aim to keep your data safe and to announce significant changes in advance, but we do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times or free of errors. Keep your own copy of important schemas — the CLI writes them into your repository with mockingpug pull.

10. Suspension and Termination

You can stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account at any time by writing to [email protected]. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms or put the Service or other users at risk; where reasonable, we will warn you first and give you a chance to export Your Content. After an account is closed, its content is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the extent permitted by law. Mock data is not meant for production use or for decisions about real people.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, mockingpug is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or 50 USD if you paid nothing. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Poland, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Disputes are resolved by the competent courts there, unless the mandatory law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. The effective date at the top shows the latest revision. For material changes we will notify you by email or in the cloud editor at least 14 days before they take effect; if you keep using the Service after that, you accept the updated Terms.

15. Complaints

If something in the Service does not work as described, write to [email protected] with your account email and a description of the problem. We reply within 14 days. Consumers may also use out-of-court complaint and redress procedures, such as the consumer ombudsman (rzecznik konsumentów) or the Trade Inspection (Inspekcja Handlowa) in Poland.
